The Paintings of Gal Vihara of Polonnaruwa
It has been discovered some of the paintings at the cave of Vidyadhara of Gal Vihara are still safe and saved which is about 6×1 feet.
There is a floral decoration at the top of the painting. Thereafter there is an image of “Brahmana” wearing an ordinary garment with a beard carrying a flower in his hand. He is wearing a “puna noola” on his bust. These paintings reflect three dimensional features and the distance very clearly. It can be believed that these paintings are also similar to the period of the paintings available at the Thivanka shrine room.
